When I wrote the Tarot Blueprint book, I was looking all over the internet for pictures of the Rider Waite deck that I could use without any copyright issues. Since the original line drawings were made in 1910, and Dr. Arthur Edward Waite died in 1942, the automatic copyright for the original artwork expired in 2012. US Games still has copyright to all of the colored versions, but not the original line drawings.
So, I journeyed through cyber space until I found a website where someone offered the original line drawings as commons property. She was offering them to the world and had made them into pdfs for easy download. She encouraged everyone to download and use them for something creative, so that is what I did. I turned them into books, book covers and this cool looking Tarot deck.
